The ancient civilizations did not have bright street lights, skyscrapers, or other large sources of light polluting the sky at night. The ancients could clearly see the sky, the stars, the Moon, the Sun, even Venus and other planets. When you are an ancient civilization whose life is owed directly to the Sun for its sunlight and warmth, you will tend to become fascinated with the large glowing orb of energy that rises each day. The Sun was a clock. By studying the movement of the Sun, the ancient civilizations knew when to perform such things as preparing for Winter.

As a form of respect and worship, the Sun was carefully studied on a daily basis. More particularly, the “constellations” were transformed into anthropomorphisms such as the Leo the Lion, or Cancer the Crab. The ancients did what anyone would and should do. They projected their imagination into the formation of heavenly lights to make them come alive. They developed a story, or myth, which stars (pun intended) the Sun as the main anthropomorphic character. Lets take a look at this story in both highly objective astrological terms, and then in mythological terms.

The Astrological Story of the Sun

The Sun’s position, when observed at a fix point in time (for example 8:00 AM) on a daily basis will change over time. This is why days seem shorter and longer during different seasons. Before the Sun begins to fall back downward from its highest position, the constellation Scorpio is seen in Autumn rising with the Sun. From Earth, the Sun appears to rise on the horizon closer to the south as the days progress. The days become shorter. Nights become longer. It becomes colder. The Winter Solstice, December 21st, is the day when the Sun stops moving its position on the horizon. For 3 (three) days, the Sun is observed on the horizon at the same point. This is the end of the season “Fall”, because the Sun stops “Falling.” After the three days, the Sun begins to move Northward again. And so the cycle continues. If you are observing this phenomenon above the 66.5 to 67 degree latitude line, there is no Sun in the sky during the three days. The Sun will remain below the horizon for three days.

On the morning of December 25th, when observing the rise of the Sun the following objects are seen rising from the Eastern horizon in chronological order:

1. The three stars of Orion’s Belt
2. Dog Star Sirius (Sirius being pointed to by the three stars of Orion’s Belt)
3. The constellation Virgo
4. The constellation Serpens (The head of Serpens close to the foot of Virgo)
5. The Sun in conjunction with the constellation Aquila (Aquila appears to be standing on the Sun)

Simultaneously on the Western horizon the constellation Hydra is seen rising. That is the basic observation regarding the Sun disappearing for three days.

The reason for this entire conundrum is because of The Tilt of the Earth

The Mythological Story of Jesus

According to the Bible:

5. Horus was killed by the mark of a scorpion

The Astromythological Story of The Sun

Jesus, Horus, Mithra, Buddha, Krishna, and a host of other mythological figures are the Sun. Their twelve disciples or helpers, or twelve accompanying figures are the signs of the Zodiac. The reason why Judas kisses Jesus before Jesus dies, is the scorpion sting leaves a sting mark that looks like lips. Jesus is crucified on the Solar cross of the Zodiac. Here are the direct corollations:

1. Jesus, Horus, etc are the Sun
2. Twelve disciples and the like are the Zodiac signs
3. The 3 Kings are the three stars of the Orion constellation
4. The bright star is Sirius
5. The death symbolizes the Sun not being seen moving or not being seen at all in the sky for 3 days
6. The resurrection is the Sun beginning its journey back Northward

They are the guardians, the gates, the threshold to the Beyond”

According to Number and Time: Reflections Leading Toward a Unification of Depth Psychology and Physics:

Page 93: “The double lion Routi is the divine principle which, recreating itself in death, rising up from the dead. Psychologically this lion symbolizes psychic energy, in its latent unconscious condition, and its reappearance on the threshold of consciousness. Whenever a latent unconscious content pushes up into consciousness, it appears first as a twofold oneness. For this reason nearly all cosmogonies begin their tales of the emergence of world-consciousness with a duality: creator twins, a god and his ‘helper’, or, as in Genesis, the earth ‘without form and void’ over which the Spirit of God moved.”

Lionsgate is “the leading independent filmed entertainment studio”.

When examining these two logos, the first observation is the Lion formed from stars. The second, is the Lionsgate text shown over Sun symbolism. It is clear that this company, who produces many movies containing Freemasonry symbolism consider themselves the guardians of knowledge. Now, Leo, is one of the constellations of the Zodiac. The Zodiac, is a direct reference to the Sun. The Sun is in Leo from approximately July 21 to August 20 depending on the year. The Sun’s position at midday during the time of the Egyptians coincided with the midsummer solstice. Leo was a constellation of the summer.

Leo, the Lion, the Double Lion, Routi, refers directly to the Sun as being a source of knowledge.

The theme of Illumination, Knowledge, or Secrets being kept “under the Lion’s Paw” is a recurring motif.

There seems to be a strange reason why Zahi Hawass, the man in charge of Egyptian archaeology, refuses to let anyone discover what is underneath the Sphinx. Ground radar penetration has revealed a complex tunnel system yet no further investigation or public disclosure has happened. So what lies beneath?

Ancient civilizations may have observed the Milky Way and noticed it looks like a snake biting its own tail. They may have also noticed that the Milky Way appears to move in a circular motion as our planet rotates through the solar system. Thus, the Ouroboros can represent what we see from Earth on certain dates of solar events (Geocentric astrology) as we orbit through the solar system.

Other interpretations of the Ouroboros are quite interesting. It is theorized that the snake, represents DNA. The snake, or serpent, being symbolized by Hermes:

Hermes was a Greek “messenger” God who wielded a Caduceus. Hence the name Caduceus of Hermes. This is origin of the medical symbol. If you take it a step further, and notice the dual intertwined snakes forming a sort of double helix DNA strand, you arrive at the conclusion that the serpent represents DNA. If the serpent is a biological anthropomorphism of DNA, then we can attribute the Ouroboros to cycles of DNA change. Similarly, the serpent in the Garden of Eden offering forbidden fruit to Adam and Eve can be interpreted as an unknown force beckoning the two to partake in experiencing and/or activating their DNA.

Throughout history, serpents have been depicted in very curious ways.

It is also interesting to note that NASA has taken pictures of a double helix formation near the Milky Way:

“The DNA nebula is about 80 light-years long. It’s about 300 light-years from the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way. The nebula is nearly perpendicular to the black hole, moving out of the galaxy at a quick clip-about 620 miles per second (1,000 kilometers per second). Magnetic field lines at the galactic center are about 1,000 times stronger than on Earth. They run perpendicular to the black hole, but parallel through the nebula. Scientists think that twisting of these lines is what causes the double helix shape.”

According to Wikipedia:

“The golden ratio, φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618, [...] plays an important role in regular pentagons and pentagrams. Each intersection of edges sections the edges in golden ratio: the ratio of the length of the edge to the longer segment is φ, as is the length of the longer segment to the shorter. Also, the ratio of the length of the shorter segment to the segment bounded by the 2 intersecting edges (a side of the pentagon in the pentagram’s center) is φ. As the four-color illustration shows:

The pentagram includes ten isosceles triangles: five acute and five obtuse isosceles triangles. In all of them, the ratio of the longer side to the shorter side is φ. The acute triangles are golden triangles. The obtuse isosceles triangle highlighted via the colored lines in the illustration is a golden gnomon.”

It appears we have a pentagram embedded into the design of Washington DC. It is important to note that the Whitehouse sits at the lower point of this. The origin of the pentagram or pentagon is
believed to be derived from occult astrology.

The Origin of the Pentagram

This is the diagram on the Zodiac that Venus makes in eight years. After that period, Venus, the Sun, the Earth and the stars are again in the same relative positions. It means that Venus, seen from the Earth, is in the same position with respect not only to the Sun, but also to the stars. This happens because five periods of Venus take eight years. Venus (The Morning Star, Lucifer, Second Sun) being a large orange planet is known to be the most occult planet in the solar system.

It is important to note that this pentagram is missing a segment. The missing segment has been debated by Freemasons themselves who claim that this missing segment invalidates the symbol as being a carefully placed pentagram. According to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust:

Freemasonry then, to an outside observer, appears to be an ambiguous umbrella religion. With the basics established, lets look at how the organization works.

Freemasonry is an institution in which an initiate is climbing a ladder or stairs to reach the Light symbolized by an illuminated eye sometimes shown inside an equidistant triangle. The ultimate understanding is of the alchemical and cyclical nature of the solar system. The rituals for advancement involve taking blood oaths of silence or things such as being threatened with a dagger or sword.

Freemasonry and Witchcraft

Freemasonry is strikingly similar to Witchcraft. It can be assumed that Witchcraft was one of the cults of alchemical knowledge. Here is a list of the common similarities:

• They both have a foundational system of three degrees, with some forms of Wicca offering higher degrees after achieving the third degree.
• Both are secret societies because they both keep their membership rolls secret, and secrets are kept from the general public by both “religions.”
• Both usually meet in secret, with the exceptions for the purpose of rare openly public events.
• Both have ceremonial initiations to pass a candidate from one degree to another, of which include sworn oaths.
• Both have ceremonial form of purgings & purifications of the ritual area before commencing any ritual work.
• They both have the candidates remove all secular clothing, remove all metal (i.e. jewelry, etc.), and hoodwinked (i.e. blindfolded, etc.) with ropes ceremonially tied around them (the form of the tying varies).
• Both groups have the candidate stand in the Northeast corner of the “temple” in the first degree.
• Both groups challenge the candidate by piercing their naked chest with a sharp impliment (witches utilize the sword, while Masons use the point of a compass).
• They both challenge the candidate by asking for secret passwords.
• Both have the candidate lead in a circular walk (or “walking around”) of the temple while hoodwinked.
• Both have the candidate(while hoodwinked) endure being picked up, carried around, spun around, being pushed or struck from one person to another. It is supposed to create an “altered state of consciousness in the candidate.”
• Both have the ceremonial un-hoodwinking of the candidate, after he/she has taken the oath, before lighted candles which are supposed to bring “illumination.”
• Both explain to the new initiate the “working tools” pertaining to that degree & each tool’s use is taught to the initiate.
• Both groups, in the higher degrees, bring the candidate through a “from-death-to-rebirth” ritual in which he/she acts the part of a hero/heroine of the craft.

Occam’s Razor?

This symbol and its many different abstractions shows up in so many places (churches, hospitals, currency, legal documents, movies, songs, song art, corporate logos, ritual and occult literature) that there cannot be any explanation other than there is some unifying factor causing the use of this symbol either purposefully or not. This symbol ties directly to Egyptian mythology and symbolism of the Eye of Ra, or the Eye of Horus.

The reason why the Eye of Ra/Horus is placed inside a triangle, could be:

1. The Trinity (Father, Sun, Animus)
2. The Third Eye (Pineal Gland) inside a Tetrahedron
3. The Sun inside a 3D world
4. The Capstone of a Pyramid, symbolizing that which is most high

According to Symbols of Freemasonry by Albert G. Mackey:
