The Seal of Solomon

There is a strange symbolic connection between the story of the Seal of Solomon, Revelation, and Astrology that will be explored in this article. The story of the Seal of Solomon, the Fisherman and the Jinni (Genie) originates from the The Book of The Thousand Nights and A Night. It is interesting to note that the title of this work indicates the separation between 1000 Nights and 1 Night. 1000 has been used as a significant number in the Bible as the number of years the Devil is locked in the bottomless pit by the seven seals. George Bush mentions the “1000 lights” as Hitler mentions the 1000 year Reich.

Revelation

Before dissecting the story of the Seal-Ring of Solomon, let us establish the background knowledge from Revelation:

  • Satan lives in a Bottomless Pit for 1000 years and can be released/trapped
    • (Revelation 20:7) And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
  • When Satan is released, smoke arises
    • (Revelation 9:2) And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
  • There are seven seals that must be activated in order to trap or release Satan.
    • (Revelation 5:1) And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
    • (Revelation 5:5) And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

David

David (Hebrew: דָּוִ(י)ד, Modern Dawid Tiberian Dāwīḏ “beloved”, Arabic: داود‎ Dāwud,Dawood) was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel. He is depicted in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament as a righteous king, although not without fault, as well as an acclaimed warrior, musician and poet (he is traditionally credited with the authorship of many of the Psalms). The narrative depicts him throughout his life as conflicted between his ruthless ambition and lusts, and his desire to serve God. The biblical chronology sets his life c.1037–970 BC, his reign over Judah c.1007–1000 BC, and his reign over the united Kingdom of Israel c.1000–970 BC.

The Books of Samuel is the primary source of information on his life and reign; there is little archaeological evidence to confirm the Bible’s picture of David (although the Tel Dan stele suggests that a king named David founded a Judaean royal dynasty by the 9th-century BC), but his story has been of immense importance to subsequent Jewish and Christian culture.

Solomon

WiseSolomon

Solomon (Hebrew: שְׁלֹמֹה, Modern Šəlomo or Šlomo Tiberian Šəlōmōh, Arabic: سليمان‎ Sulaymān) is a figure described in the Hebrew Bible as a King of Israel and later in the Qur’an, where he is described as a Prophet. The biblical accounts identify Solomon as the son of David. He is also called Jedidiah in the Tanakh, and is described as the third king of the United Monarchy, and the final king before the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah split; following the split his patrilineal descendants ruled over Judah alone. The Bible accredits Solomon as the builder of the First Temple in Jerusalem, and portrays him as great in wisdom, wealth, and power, but ultimately as a king whose sin, including idolatry and turning away from God, leads to the kingdom being torn in two during the reign of his son Rehoboam. Solomon is the subject of many other later references and legends.

The Fisherman and the Jinni (Genie)

genie-aladdin-4250844-354-498

A Fisherman with a wife and 3 children. The Fisherman casts his net 4 times a day (No more than four). It is interesting to compare The Fisherman to Jesus.

First Cast

The first cast he was not able to pull up the net. He dove into the water and found a “dead jackass.”

Second Cast

The Fisherman makes a second cast in the name of Allah (God). The Fisherman pulled up a very heavy earthen pitcher of sand and mud. The Fisherman discards the pitcher.

Third Cast

The Fisherman finds potsherds and broken glass.

Fourth Cast

Then raising his eyes heavenwards he said, “O my God! verily Thou wottest that I cast not my net each day save four times; the third is done and as yet Thou hast vouchsafed me nothing. So this time, O my God, deign give me my daily bread.” Then, having called on Allah’s name, he again threw his net and waited its sinking and settling; whereupon he haled at it but could not draw it in for that it was entangled at the bottom. He cried out in his vexation “There is no Majesty and there is no Might save in Allah!”

The Fisherman finds a cucumber shaped jar of yellow copper evidently full of something “whose mouth was made fast with a leaden cap, stamped with the seal ring of our Lord Sulayman (Solomon) son of David”. Seeing this the Fisherman rejoiced and said, “If I sell it in the brass bazar ’tis worth ten golden diners.” He shook it and finding it heavy continued, “Would to Heaven I knew what is herein. But I must and will open it and look to its contents and store it in my bag and sell it in the brass market.” And taking out a knife he worked at the lead till he had loosened it from the jar; then he laid the cup on the ground and shook the vase to pour out whatever might be inside. He found nothing in it; whereat he marvelled with an exceeding marvel. But presently there came forth from the jar a smoke which spired heavenwards into aether (whereat he again marvelled with mighty marvel), and which trailed along earth’s surface till presently, having reached its full height, the thick vapour condensed, and became an Ifrit, huge of bulk, whose crest touched the clouds while his feet were on the ground. His head was as a dome, his hands like pitchforks, his legs long as masts and his mouth big as a cave; his teeth were like large stones, his nostrils ewers, his eyes two lamps and his look was fierce and lowering.

Aladdin lamp

Very interesting, it seems the Fisherman has fished up the container of Satan stamped with the Seal of Solomon. Upon opening, smoke arises and a beast emerges. Satan is a Jinni (Genie) contained in a bottle or lamp or bottomless pit or prison of some type.

Now when the Fisherman saw the Ifrit his side muscles quivered, his teeth chattered, his spittle dried up and he became blind about what to do. Upon this the Ifrit looked at him and cried, “There is no god but the God, and Sulayman is the prophet of God;” presently adding, “O Apostle of Allah, slay me not; never again will I gainsay thee in word nor sin against thee in deed.” Quoth the Fisherman, “O Marid, diddest thou say, Sulayman the Apostle of Allah; and Sulayman is dead some thousand and eight hundred years ago, and we are now in the last days of the world! What is thy story, and what is thy account of thyself, and what is the cause of thy entering into this cucurbit?” Now when the Evil Spirit heard the words of the Fisherman, quoth he; “There is no god but the God: be of good cheer, O Fisherman!” Quoth the Fisherman, “Why biddest thou me to be of good cheer?” and he replied, “Because of thy having to die an ill death in this very hour.” Said the Fisherman, “Thou deservest for thy good tidings the withdrawal of Heaven’s protection, O thou distant one! Wherefore shouldest thou kill me and what thing have I done to deserve death, I who freed thee from the jar, and saved thee from the depths of the sea, and brought thee up on the dry land?” Replied the Ifrit, “Ask of me only what mode of death thou wilt die, and by what manner of slaughter shall I slay thee.” Rejoined the Fisherman, “What is my crime and wherefore such retribution?” Quoth the Ifrit, “Hear my story, O Fisherman!” and he answered, “Say on, and be brief in thy saying, for of very sooth my life breath is my nostrils.” Thereupon quoth the Jinni, “Know, that I am one among the heretical Jann and I sinned against Sulayman, David son (on the twain be peace!) I together with the famous Sakhr al Jinni;” whereupon the Prophet sent his minister, Asaf son of Barkhiya, to seize me; and this Wazir brought me against my will and led me in bonds to him (I being downcast despite my nose) and he placed me standing before him like a suppliant. When Sulayman saw me, he took refuge with Allah and bade me embrace the True Faith and obey his behests; but I refused, so sending for this cucurbit he shut me up therein, and stopped it over with lead whereon he impressed the Most High Name, and gave his orders to the Jann who carried me off, and cast me into the midmost of the ocean. There I abode an hundred years, during which I said in my heart, “Whoso shall release me, him will I enrich for ever and ever.” But the full century went by and, when no one set me free, I entered upon the second five score saying, “Whoso shall release me, for him I will open the hoards of the earth.” Still no one set me free and thus four hundred years passed away. Then quoth I, “Whoso shall release me, for him will I fulfil three wishes.” Yet no one set me free. Thereupon I waxed wroth with exceeding wrath and said to myself, “Whoso shall release me from this time forth, him will I slay and I will give him choice of what death he will die; and now, as thou hast released me, I give thee full choice of deaths.” The Fisherman, hearing the words of the Ifrit, said, “O Allah! the wonder of it that I have not come to free thee save in these days!” adding, “Spare my life, so Allah spare shine; and slay me not, lest Allah set one to slay thee.” Replied the Contumacious One, “There is no help for it; die thou must; so ask me by way of boon what manner of death thou wilt die.” Albeit thus certified the Fisherman again addressed the Ifrit saying, “Forgive me this my death as a generous reward for having freed thee;” and the Ifrit, “Surely I would not slay thee save on account of that same release.” “O Chief of the Ifrits,” said the Fisherman, “I do thee good and thou requitest me with evil!

The first thing out of the Jinni’s mouth is the declaration that Sulayman (Solomon) is the prophet of God. Sulayman being dead 1800 years ago and that we are in the last days of the world. The Jinni offers the Fisherman a wish of choosing how to die. The Jinni declares that it is among the heretical Jann and that it sinned against Sulayman. The Jinni declares an alliance with Sakhr al Janni. The Janni refused to obey True Faith (God) and was locked in the cucumber jar. The jar was sealed with the Most High Name (The Name of God). The Jinni explains how Jann carried the jar and threw it in the midmost of the ocean. The most important part of this, is the Jinni’s dark pact.

The Jinni’s Dark Pact

After waiting in the bronze jar for:

  • 100 years: The Jinni grants the releaser eternal riches
  • 200 years: The Jinni grants the releaser the hoards of the earth
  • 400 years: The Jinni grants the releaser 3 wishes
  • Not specified: The Jinni grants the releaser the choice of how to die.

The Jinni Tricked

genie-lamp

The Jinni is obviously afraid of the Name of God as it is what sealed him inside the jar. The Fisherman questions the Jinni as to how he fits inside the jar. The Jinni turns into vapors and enters the jar completely. The Fisherman quickly takes the leaden cap with the Seal of Solomon and traps the Jinni. The Fisherman says:

“Ask me by way of boon what death thou wilt die! By Allah, I will throw thee into the sea be fore us and here will I build me a lodge; and whoso cometh hither I will warn him against fishing and will say:—In these waters abideth an Ifrit who giveth as a last favour a choice of deaths and fashion of slaughter to the man who saveth him!”

Build me a lodge? Interesting terminology.

The “Seal-Ring” Excerpts from 1000 & 1 Nights

  • “Now (continued the serpent that was), I swear by all engraver on the seal-ring of Solomon (with whom be peace!) unless thou deal to each of these bitches three hundred stripes every day I will come and imprison thee forever under the earth.” I answered, “Hearkening and obedience!”; and away she Dew.
  • So she swooped down on him like a sparrow-hawk and, when he was aware of her and knew her to be Maymunah, the daughter of the King of the Jinn, he feared her and his side-muscles quivered; and he implored her forbearance, saying, I conjure thee by the Most Great and August Name and by the most noble talisman graven upon the seal-ring of Solomon, entreat me kindly and harm me not!”
  • Tell me without leasing and think not to escape from my hand with falses, for I swear to thee by the letters graven upon the bezel of the seal-ring of Solomon David son (on both of whom be peace!), except thy speech be true, I will pluck out thy feathers with mine own hand and strip off thy skin and break thy bones!”
  • Quoth the King, “How do the people of the sea walk therein, without being wetted?”; and quoth she, “O King of the Age, we walk in the waters with our eyes open, as do ye on the ground, by the blessing of the names graven upon the seal-ring of Solomon Davidson (on whom be peace!).
  • Rejoined Salih, “O King of the land, we pencilled his eyes with an eye powder we know of and recited over him the names graven upon the seal-ring of Solomon David son (on whom be the Peace!), for this is what we use to do with children newly born among us; and now thou needst not fear for him drowning or suffocation in all the oceans of the world, if he should go down into them; for, even as ye walk on the land, so walk we in the sea.”
  • Thereupon the Jinni, ‘Peradventure one may come, having on his finger the seal-ring of Solomon son of David (on the twain be peace!) and lay his hand with the ring on the face of the water, saying, ‘By the virtue of the names engraven upon this ring, let the soul of such an one come forth!’ Whereupon the coffer will rise to the surface and he will break it open and do the like with the chests and caskets, till he come to the little box, when he will take out the sparrow and strangle it, and I shall die.’”
  • Then Daulat Khatun humbled herself and said, “O Badi’a al-Jamal, by the milk we have sucked, I and thou, and by that which is graven on the seal-ring of Solomon (on whom be peace!) hearken to these my words for I pledged myself in the High-builded Castle of Japhet, to show him thy face.
  • He replied, “O my lady, I conjure thee by the graving upon the seal-ring of Solomon David-son (on the twain be peace!) have patience with me till I tell thee my cause and after do with me what thou wilt.”

The Lord of the Rings?

Jrrt_lotr_cover_design

What is this movie really about? Let us look at the similarities between the Lord of the Rings story, and the Arabian Nights:

  1. There is a conflict between an Evil Jinni and the Righteous God (Good vs Evil) in Arabian Nights. Lord of the Rings contains another battle of the polarities. Centering on a ring or seal-ring.
  2. The Seal-Ring of Solomon = Sauron’s The Ruling Ring of Power
  3. The Seal-Ring was thrown into the ocean, and discovered while fishing. The Ruling Ring of Power was discovered by Gollum while fishing in a lake.

The Seal of Solomon (Sulaymon)

4TETRAMORPHSinFIXEDPositionouroboros-and-solomons-seal-woodcut

  • Contains the Name of God
  • Is what locks the Jinni/Satan/Devil in the Prison/Bottomless Pit/Bronze Cucumber Jar/Magic Lamp
  • Is drawn with 6 lines, contains 6 outer points, and 6 inner edges inside as a hexagram (666)
  • Contains alchemical symbols for Fire and Water (Up and Down triangles respectively), also pointing to duality and opposite polarities
  • Is sometimes drawn around an Ouroboros, or Dual Ouroboros
  • Sometimes makes references to the Planets as shown above (Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury)

If this symbol contains the name of God, then the name of God must be an astrological event or else it would have been used already. Perhaps the story of Revelation and the Apocalypse (Revealing) is speaking about the astrological alignment in a metaphorical and symbolic way.

J.D.-Mylius-Opus-medico-chymic

When studying this beautiful alchemical woodcut of the Emerald Tablet, you see:

  1. Mercury in the center of the large Zodiac depiction seeming to hint at a Mercury-centered astrology chart
  2. A Seal of Solomon
  3. Depictions of Duality (Male and Female aspects, Active/Passive, Fire/Water)
  4. Depictions of Fire and Water on opposite sides (Aquila and the Phoenix, which are both constellations)

macroprosopus

Again, we have the Ouroboros surrounding a hexagon star shaped design with a below/above reflection of As Above So Below. The phrases macroprosopus and microprosopus confirm the dualistic interconnectivity of what this symbol is describing.

  • The configuration of the planets is a macrocosm of the microcosm of Earth’s events.
  • The aspects of the planets have an effect on Earth.
  • The astral/spiritual plane is a mirror reflection of the temporal/physical plane.

Thus, there seems to be an astrological event that will create profound affects on the Earth, as seen through some type of planetary alignment necessary to activate the Seal of Solomon and let the Jinni out of his bottle.

Seal of Solomon in Astrology

In astrology, an aspect is an angle the planets make to each other in the horoscope, and also to the ascendant, midheaven, descendant and nadir. The aspects are measured by the angular distance along the ecliptic in degrees and minutes of celestial longitude between two points, as viewed from the earth. They indicate focal points in the horoscope where the energies involved are given extra emphasis. The astrological aspects are said to influence affairs on Earth according to millennia of astrological tradition.

There are two places where there are very peculiar alignments, one of them is Friday March 3, 4BC @ 3:14:15 (Think Pi) in a Heliocentric chart:

The Bottomless Pit

Revelation 9 (King James Version)

1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Revelation 20 (King James Version)

1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
