As much as I hate this mother fucking song, the lyrics are incredibly revealing.
Jay-Z beings with:
- No clouds in my storms
- Let it rain, I hydroplane in the bank (Rihanna: eh eh)
- Comin’ down with the Dow Jones
- When the clouds come we gone
- We Rocafella (Rihanna: eh eh)
- We fly higher than weather
- And G5s are better
- You know me
- An anticipation for precipitation, stacks chips for the rainy day (Rihanna: eh eh)
- Jay, Rain Man is back with little Miss Sunshine
- Rihanna where you at?
Analysis:
- No clouds in my storms seems to mean that whatever storm is being referred to will not have visible clouds to indicate it is coming. It is a silent storm.
- Hydroplaning in the bank refers to the storm, so this must be an economic storm. Hydroplaning means coasting on the water of a storm.
- Coming down with the Dow Jones? This song was released in 2007 way before the economic panic.
- When the storm comes, we’re gone. Jay-Z meaning hes leaving before the financial crisis.
- Rocafella is Rockefeller, as in David Rockefeller
- We fly above the storm, we are not affected by the financial crisis, we are the David Rockefeller family
- G5 can refer to a classification of Sun or Star. It is unknown what this refers to
- [Self-explanatory]
- Jay-Z has money saved for the financial crisis
- The “Rain Man”, the creator of the storm is declaring his presence
So who is the Rain Man? Lets ask Eminem in his song “Rain Man”:
- Cause I ain’t got no legs!
- Or no brain, nice to meet you
- Hi, my name is…
- I forgot my name!
- My name was not to become what I became with this level of fame
- My soul is possessed by this devil my new name is….
- Rain Man
Eminem is possessed by the devil and his name is Rain Man? Lets ask Gucci Mane in his song “Rain Man”:
- rain rain rain this way
- thats what all the strippas say
- rain man go away thats what all these hatas say
- imma rain man and i can make it rain i make it thunder storm
- i make it hurricane
How about Jamie Fox in her song “Rain Man”:
- baby cut my lights (cut my lights)back on (back on baby)take me I’m ours (take me I’m yours)
- release me release me ohhhhh uhh ohhhh Rain Man,Rain Man, Rain Man
Lil Wayne’s “Rain Man” anthem:
- Hey everbody say mr.rain man can we have rainy day?
- Bring an umbrella please bring an umbrella ella ella ella
Let’s consult another one of Rihanna’s songs called Disturbia:
- Why do I feel like this?
- I’m going crazy now
- No more gas, in the red, can’t even get it started
- Nothing heard, nothing said, can’t even speak about it
- On my life, on my head, don’t wanna think about it
- Feels like I’m going insane, yeah
- It’s a thief in the night to come and grab you
- It can creep up inside you and consume you
- A disease of the mind, it can control you
- It’s too close for comfort
It seems Rihanna and Eminem, and other popular artists are affected mentally by “Rain Man”.
