Credo Mutwa the Zulu Shaman

credo_mutwa

Credo Mutwa the Zulu Shaman. "The best way to protect from evil is to deny its existence."

Credo Mutwa is made famous by David Icke. Icke portrays Credo as being one of two people left who have the ‘true knowledge of the continent’. Credo is the official storyteller and keeper of the knowledge of the Zulu people. The bottom line story is that “a reptilian race from another world interbred with humanity in the far ancient world creating hybrid crossbread bloodlines.” The reptilians were the gods of the ancient world and are responsible for human sacrifice. These bloodlines were put into positions of ruling royal power of the ancient world and that same bloodline has continued until today. Enough generalization, lets get into the details that Credo Mutwa speaks of.

It is extremely hard to envision this man as lying or being involved in some elaborate scheme to misguide and/or exploit people. What possible motivation is there? The only way to discredit this is to say that he was lied to by another source and believes it as truth.

Credo’s Claims

  1. White men destroyed African religion
  2. African ancient religion went underground (Secret societies)
  3. The mission schools had been teaching lies about “The only light of God coming to African was from white people”
  4. Africans had astrology, astronomy and surgery superior to white men
  5. Credo was initiated into the ancient religion by his family and was circumsized
  6. Credo had to eat and cook a dead person’s hand for initiation
  7. Information about a highly intelligent (Chitouri? Torkats?) Reptilian race who have ruled the world for thousands of years was revealed to Credo through his initiation
  8. Credo has proof AIDS is a manmade disease
  9. African Wars are orchestrated by forces outside of Africa
  10. The Earth in which we live has produced 24 (Twenty four) different races during its long existance.

Credo Mutwa’s Ancient Zulu Story

There was once a time when the blue sky was invisible. When the whole world was covered with mist.

Genesis 2:6 (King James Version): But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

When you could not see the sun as it is now. You only saw it as a splash of white light moving slowly across the sky. At that time there was an eternal drizzle every day of the year. At that time people could not see the stars. People only saw the trees growing, trees which were very very big. There was no desert at that time, only jungle everywhere that you went. At that time say, a human being was both male and female in one body. And out of the sky one day came a terrible objects. They were like gigantic bowls made of huge gold. They were shaped like bowls without strings and they were bigger than the biggest mountains. They came out of the sky bringing great noise. Black smoke, and fire with them. And out those huge objects came them. At that time say, human beings could not speak, we had no gift of language at the time. And people had however great mental power a man would go into the bush and using the power of his mind actually call out an animal which he wanted to hunt and kill for his children and the animal would appear and kneel down before the man and the man would kill the animal and take it home. But, when the Chitauri arrived in Africa they told our people that they were gods and that they were going to give us human beings great gifts on one conditon. We had to worship them and accept them as our creators. Some told our people that they were our elder brothers and that this Earth had produced them generations ago. And they said they had come back to the green womb of their mother and that they were going to make us into gods. What they did they created a very strange pair of caves in the land. They dug two caves in one cave was a green light in another cave was a red light. And they drove human being into these caves and each human being had to choose which cave the human being wanted to go into. And those who went into the green cave came out as women. Those who went into the red cave came out as men.

Genesis 2:15-23 (King James Version): And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

And then the Chitauri told our people that now they were perfect. But, the moment the first men saw the first women a terrible (?) errupted. The woman hated the men and because they looked between the men’s legs and saw what looked like snakes dangling. And the men hated the women because they looked on their chest and they saw these big things what they were they did not know. And then the Chitauri laughed it was to them a very very big joke. And then they (aliens) said if you serve us you wretched little human beings we are going to make you into gods. And the human beings agreed. And the Chitauri gave human beings a second gift the gift of language. People started talking with their tongues where they had talked with their minds before and there was a big rubbish starting again because this man did not know the language of that men.

Genesis 11:7 (King James Version): Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

This was taking place all over the world. When our people were given language, they found to their horror that they had lost much of their mental powers. They had paid a terrible price. But the Chitauri were now the masters of human beings. They made them go into holes in the ground and mine metals.

Genesis 2:12 (King James Version): And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

The people were very unhappy because they couldn’t cope with the new sexual differences. And then from amongst the Chitauri came a very good female. Her name was Myzarantwarri Zamahongo was the senior wife of the terrible chief of the aliens. She was sorry for human beings this great reptile lady. She said to the people said “you are unhappy” and the people said yes great one we go into the hole every day we dig the stones and we bring it to the gods but we are not happy. She scratched her scaly chin. She was terribly ugly her eyes were awful like lights in the darkness. But she had mercy in her heart and she taught the men and the women how to make love. And she said look, we divided you into males and females now this action is going to bring you together. Ah but it did not because anyone who received the gift of the Chitauri was always in trouble. What happened was that when one guy slept with his wife he didn’t find her much so he went to sleep with another guy’s wife and there was a big hamorce (?) so men started sleeping with each other’s wives. There was a big nonsense. King Umba by the terrible lord of the reptile people said “look what you did you stupid woman, now this people are making such a noise look at all that screaming in the bush and our hole is not being dug and you are responsible for this”. Myzarantwarri said she will make them stop. When they make love to each other the female is going to get pregnant. All the women were pregnant.

Some movie producers like the producers who make the film Star Wars often show creatures in their films which actually exist which even the most uneducated of Africans can identify. For example in the new Star Wars film there is a creature who amazes me called Darth Maul. Darth Maul is a red and black being with a ring of small horns right round his head that is exactly what the Chitauri look like. Where do the producers get their information? And, in one strange film which my student told called me to come and watch there is a thing called Stargate. And in that film there was a creature a very slimy cream colored creature with a heavy wrinkles on its face it was a speaking likeness of Mobaba (?) the emporor of the Chitauri

Bill Schnoebelen with a dope beard

Bill Schnoebelen (aka Christopher P. Syn) claims to be a “90th Degree Mason” (Ancient Egyptian Rite of Memphis-Misraim) ex-Illuminati member, ex-Vampire, 9th degree York Rite Freemason, Rosicrucian, Wiccan High Priest, Witch, Spiritualist Minister, Knight Templar, Druidic High Priest, Satanic Priest, Catholic Priest, Bishop and Satanic Warlock. Bill popped up on the internet through a few of his Prophecy Club lectures on Freemasonry, Witchcraft, Illuminati, Vampirism and  Satanism. Bill provides generally coherent information excluding the vampire stuff. Bill claims to have been saved by “the power of Jesus Christ” and has grown his hair and beard longer and longer. He was seen at a UFO conference (with Stan Deyo, David Wilcock, Michael Heiser and others) wearing a yamaka, sporting a long white beard and generally acting strange.

Claims

Bill puts together a coherent synthesis of information claiming many of the same recurring internet tidbits such as Freemasonry being a sun cult obsessed with phallic symbols and the Generative Principle. Bill seems to have a somewhat firm grip of understanding of the basic Freemasonry rites and rituals. Bill can be seen reciting lengthy masonic literature from memory and has seemingly memorized many verses from the Bible. He ties in how the original masons built Solomon’s Temple and the secrets were held with Solomon and Hiram Abiff. He claims Freemasonry was infiltrated by the Bavarian Illuminati as a satanic “illuministic” cult seeking to spread evil. However, he does not provide an argument for who the Bavarian Illuminati are or what their motives are. He does say that the Bavarian Illuminati shortly produced two key people, Francis Bacon (The New Atlantis book), and Elias Ashmole.

According to Wikipedia

Elias Ashmole was an antiquary with a strong Baconian bent for the study of nature. His library reflects his intellectual outlook, including works on English history, law, numismatics, chorography, alchemy, astrology, astronomy, and botany. Although he was one of the founding members of the Royal Society, a key institution in the development of experimental science, his interests were antiquarian and mystical as well as scientific. He was an early Freemason, although the extent of his involvement and commitment is unclear.

Bill Schnoebelen claims Freemasonry’s history in chronological order as the following:

  • Nimrod
  • Egyptian Mysteries of Isis and Osiris
  • King Solomon and Hiram Abiff
  • The Rites of Eleusis
  • The Dionysian Artificers
  • Qabalah and Gnosticism
  • The Hashishim (Assassins)
  • The Knights Templar
  • The Stone Masons’ Guild
  • Brothers of the Rosey Cross (Rosicrucians)
  • The admission of wealthy “speculative masons”
  • The Mother Lodge of England in 1717
  • Bavarian Illuminati Order in 1776 (Designed to infiltrate Freemasonry)
  • William Morgan’s Anti-Masonry movement
  • The Scottish Rite and Albert Pike’s revitalization of Freemasonry
  • The 20th century Masonic Renaissance

Bill’s list of Demonic Forces:

  • Tubalcain (2 ball cane)
  • Baphomet (Goat)
  • Jahbulon (Trigod of Freemasonry)
  • Hiram Abiff
  • Dagon
2ff91cf0
Bill Schnoebelen’s most vital piece of information.

Bill claims to have made it as far as the Ordo Templi Orlientis in the above diagram. Certainly someone this high up in this theoretical compartmentalized system of control would be instantly killed if they were to become disloyal. This is exactly where the skepticism of Bill is rooted.

The Palladium

Cuttingedge.org

Palladism is necessarily a Luciferian rite. Its religion is Manichaean neo-gnosticism, teaching that the divinity is dual, and that Lucifer is the equal of Adonay, with Lucifer the God of Light and Goodness, struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil .. Albert Pike had only specified and unveiled the dogmas of the high grades of all other Masonries, for in no matter what rite, the Great Architect of the Universe is not the God worshipped by the Christians.

Wikipedia:

Palladists is a name for an alleged Theistic Satanism society or member of that society. The name Palladian comes from Pallas and refers to wisdom and learning.

Theistic Satanism, also known as Traditional Satanism or Spiritual Satanism, is a form of Satanism with the primary belief that Satan is an actual deity or force worthy of reverence or worship.[1][2] Other characteristics of Theistic Satanism may include a belief in magic, which is manipulated through ritual, although that is not a defining criterion, and theistic Satanists may focus solely on devotion. Unlike LaVeyan Satanism, which was founded by Anton LaVey in the 1960s, Theistic Satanism is theistic as opposed to atheistic, believing that Satan is a real being, as opposed to purely a symbol of individualism.

The 9 (Nine) “Unknown Men”

Wikipedia:

The Nine Unknown Men are a legendary two millennia-old secret society reputedly founded by the Indian Emperor Asoka c. 270 BC. According to the legend, upon his conversion to Buddhism after a massacre during one of his wars, the Emperor founded the society of the Nine to preserve and develop knowledge that would be dangerous to humanity if it fell into the wrong hands. Some versions of the story include an additional motivation for the Emperor to conceal scientific knowledge: remnants of the Rama Empire, an Indian version of Atlantis, which according to Hindu scripture was destroyed by advanced weaponry 15,000 years ago. The early appearance of the society in the fictional works of Louis Jacolliot and Talbot Mundy has led some to conclude that the legend is a modern fabrication.

The Nine Books

1. Propaganda and Psychological warfare is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. Instead of impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. It is the most dangerous of all sciences, as it is capable of moulding mass opinion. It would enable anyone to govern the whole world.

2. Physiology is the study of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of living organisms. The book of The Nine included instructions on how to perform the “touch of death (death being caused by a reversal of the nerve-impulse).” One account has Judo being a product of material leaked from this book.

3. Microbiology, and, according to more recent speculation, Biotechnology. In some versions of the myth, the waters of the Ganges are purified with special microbes designed by the Nine and released into the river at a secret base in the Himalayas. Multitudes of pilgrims, suffering from the most appalling diseases, bathe in them without harming the healthy ones. The sacred waters purify everything. Their strange properties have been attributed to the fact that they contain bacteriophages.[citation needed]

4. Alchemy, including the transmutation of metals. In India, there is a persistent rumor that during times of drought or other natural disasters temples and religious organizations receive large quantities of gold from an unknown source. The mystery is further deepened with the fact that the sheer quantity of gold throughout the country in temples and with kings cannot be properly accounted for, seeing that India has few gold mines.

5. Communication, including communication with extraterrestrials.

6. Gravitation. Book 6 The Vaiminaka sastra is said to contain the instructions necessary to build a Vimana, sometimes referred to as the “ancient UFOs of India.”

7. Cosmology, the capacity to travel at enormous speeds through spacetime fabric, and time-travel; including intra- and inter-universal trips.

8. Light, the capacity to increase and decrease the speed of light, to use it as a weapon by concentrating it in a certain direction etc.

9. Sociology, including rules concerning the evolution of societies and how to predict their downfall.

Doing some quick research on Asoka, the Emperor who founded this society, we stumble upon the Lion capital of Ashoka which is a sculpture of four “Indian lions” standing back to back. It was originally placed atop the Aśoka pillar at Sarnath, now in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The pillar, sometimes called the Aśoka Column is still in its original location, but the Lion Capital is now in the Sarnath Museum. This Lion Capital of Ashoka from Sarnath has been adopted as the National Emblem of India and the wheel “Ashoka Chakra” from its base has been placed onto the center of the National Flag of India.

This statue looks incredibly like Ezekiel’s description of the Cherubim “wheel in a wheel” from Ezekiel 1. It even has wheels on the bottom. Wtf is going on here?

Zenzibar.com

This legend goes back to the time of the Emperor Asoka, who reigned in India from 273 B.C. He was the grandson of Chandragupta who was the first to unify India. Ambitious like his ancestor whose achievements he was anxious to complete, he conquered the region of Kalinga which lay between what is now Calcutta and Madras. The Kalingans resisted and lost 100,000 men in the battle. At the sight of this massacre Asoka was overcome. Forever after he experienced a horror of war. He renounced the idea of trying to integrate the rebellious people, declaring that the only true conquest was to win men’s hearts by observance of the laws of duty and piety, because the Sacred Majesty desired that all living creatures should enjoy security, peace and happiness and be free to live as they pleased. A convert to Buddhism, Asoka, by his own virtuous example, spread this religion throughout India and his entire empire which included Malaya, Ceylon and Indonesia. Later Buddhism penetrated to Nepal, Tibet, China and Mongolia. Asoka nevertheless respected all religious sects. He preached vegetarianism, abolished alcohol and the slaughter of animals. H.G. Wells, in his abridged version of his _Outline Of World History_ wrote: “Among the tens of thousands of names of monarchs accumulated in the files of history, the name of Asoka shines almost alone, like a star.” It is said that the Emperor Asoka, aware of the horrors of war, wished to forbid men ever to put their intelligence to evil uses. During his reign natural science, past and present, was vowed to secrecy. Henceforward, and for the next 2,000 years, all researches, ranging from the structure of matter to the techniques employed in collective psychology, were to be hidden behind the mystical mask of a people commonly believed to be exclusively concerned with ectasy and supernatural phenomena. Asoka founded the most powerful secret society on earth: that of the Nine Unknown Men. It is still thought that the great men responsible fro the destiny of modern India, and scientists like Bose and Ram believe in the existence of the Nine, and even receive advice and messages from them. One can imagine the extraordinary importance of secret knowledge in the hands of nine men benefiting directly from experiments, studies and documents accumulated over a period of more than 2,000 years. What can have been the aim of these men? Not to allow methods of destruction to fall into the hands of unqualified persons and to pursue knowledge which would benefit mankind. Their numbers would be renewed by co-option, so as to preserve the secrecy of techniques handed down from ancient times. Examples of the Nine Unknown Men making contact with the outer world are rare. There was, however, the extraordinary case of one of the most mysterious figures in Western history: the Pope Sylvester II, known also by the name of Gerbert d’Aurillac. Born in the Auvergne in 920 (d. 1003) Gerbert was a Benedictine monk, professor at the University of Rheims, Archbishop of Ravenna and Pope by the grace of Ortho III. He is supposed to have spent some time in Spain, after which a mysterious voyage brought him to India where he is reputed to have aquired various kinds of skills which stupified his entourage. For example, he possessed in his palace a bronze head which answered YES or NO to questions put to it on politics or the general position of Christianity. According to Sylvester II this was a perfectly simple operation corresponding to a two-figure calculation, and was performed by an automaton similar to our modern binary machines. This “magic” head was destroyed when Sylvester died, and all the information it imparted carefully concealed. No doubt an authorized research worker would come across some interesting things in the Vatican Library. In the cybernetics journal, _Computers and Automation_ of October 1954, the following comment appeared: “We must suppose that he (Sylvester) was possessed of extraordinary knowledge and the most remarkable mechanical skill and inventiveness. This speaking head must have been fashioned ‘under a certain conjunction of stars occring at the exact moment when all the planets were starting on their courses.’ Neither the past, nor the present nor the future entered into it, since this invention apparently far exceeded in its scope its rival, the perverse ‘mirror on the wall’ of the Queen, the precursor of our modern electronic brain. Naturally it was widely asserted that Gerbert was only able to produce such a machine head because he was in league with the Devil and had sworn eternal allegiance to him.” Had other Europeans any contact with the society of the Nine Unknown Men? It was not until the nineteenth century that this mystery was referred to again in the works of the French writer Jacolliot. Jacolliot was French Consul at Calcutta under the Second Empire. He wrote some quite important prophetic works, comparable, if not superior to those of Jules Verne. He also left several books dealing with the great secrets of the human race. A great many occult writers, prophets and miracle-workers have borrowed from his writings which, completely neglected in France, are well known in Russia. Jacolliot states catagorically that the Soceity of Nine did actually exist. And, to make it all the more intriguing, he refers in the this connection to certain techniques, unimaginable in 1860, such as, for example, the liberation of energy, sterilization by radiation and psychological warfare. Yersin, one of Pasteur and de Roux’s closest collaborators, was entrusted, it seems, with certain biological secrets when he visited Madras in 1890, and following the instructions he received was able to prepare a serum against cholera and the plague. The story of the Nine Unknown Men was popularized for the first time in 1927 in a book by Talbot Mundy who for twenty-five years was a member of the British police force in India. His book is half-fiction, half scientific inquiry. The Nine apparently employed a synthetic language, and each of them was in possession of a book that was constantly being rewritten and containing a detailed account of some science. The first of these books is said to have been devoted to the technique of propaganda and psychological warfare. “The most dangerous of all sciences,” wrote Mundy, “is that of moulding mass opinion, because it would enable anyone to govern the whole world.” It must be remembered that Korjybski’s _General Semantics_ did not appear until 1937 and that it was not until the West had the experience of the last World War that the techniques of psychology of language, i.e., propaganda, could be formulated. The first American college of semantics only came into being in 1950. In France almost the only book that at all well known is Serge Tchocotine’s _Le Viol des Foules_ which has had a considerable influence in intellectual polical circles, although it deals only superficially with the subject. The second book was on physiology. It explained, among other things, how it is possible to kill a man by touching him, death being caused by a reversal of the nerve-impulse. It is said that Judo is a result of “leakages” from this book. The third volume was a study on microbiology, and dealt especially with protective colloids. The fourth was concerned with the transmutation of metals. There is a legend that in times of drought temples and religious relief organizations received large quanities of fine gold from a secret source. The fifth volume contains a study of all means of communication, terrestial and extra-terrestial. The sixth expounds the secrets of gravitation. The seventh contains the most exhaustive cosmogony known to humanity. The eighth deals with light. The ninth volume, on sociology, gives the rules for the evolution of societies, and means of foretelling their decline. Connected with the Nine Unknown Men is the mystery of the waters of the Ganges. Multitudes of pilgrims, suffering from the most appalling diseases, bathe in them without harming the healthy ones. The sacred waters purify everything. Their strange properties have been attributed to the fact that they contain bacteriophages. But why should these not be formed in the Bramaputra, the Amazon or the Seine? Jacolliot in his book advances the theory of sterilization by radiation, a hundred years before such a thing was thought to be possible. These radiations, he says, probably come from a secret temple hollowed out in the bed of the Ganges. Avoiding all forms of religious, social or political agitations, deliberately and perfectly concealed from the public eye, the Nine were the incarnation of the ideal man of science, serenely aloof, but conscious of his moral obligations. Having the power to mold the destiny of the human race, but refraining from its exercise, this secret society is the finest tribute imaginable to freedom of the most exalted kind. Looking down from the watch-tower of their hidden glory, these Nine Unknown Men watched civilizations being born, destroyed and re-born again, tolerant rather than indifferent, and ready to come to the rescue — but always observing that rule of silence that is the mark of human greatness. Myth or reality? A magnificent myth, in any case, and one that has issued from the depths of time — a harbinger, maybe, of the future? Talbot Mundy wrote a book called “The Nine Unknown” based on the legend, here is a review of it: “Perhaps the perfect balance between pulp high adventure and mystical novel was achieved in The Nine Unknown. (1923/1924), written and published right before the Tibetan opus Om. The novel is based on a persistant legend brought back to the west from the East, about the existence of nine unknown perfected men who watched over India, and guarded its secrets. In Mundy’s novel there turns out to be nine unknown men who work for the good of mankind, and a dark shadowy nine who worship Kali and work to destroy the work of the others. JimGrim and his crew must try to sort out which is which if they are to survive. The novel was a favorite of Pauwels and Bergier, whose discussion of “the nine” was a prototype “open conspiracy” for planetary change in their influencial Morning of the Magicians. The use of Mundy’s ideas in Pauwels and Bergier’s book was probably was one of the prime reasons for the Mundy revival in the 1960s. The Nine Unknown remains my favorite of the JimGrim novels, and ranks at the very top of my picks of Mundy’s works. It is truely unfortunate that the novel has remained out of print since the late 1960s.”

The Seven

Does “The Seven” refer to the seven black flickering tongues of Agni the Hindu god of fire? The god of fire as in Zeus? The fire that Prometheus stole and gave to Earth?

Kaligoddess

Kali. The force of time, the eternal energy.

Wikipedia:

Kali (Sanskrit: काली, Bengali: কালী, both Kālī), also known as Kalika (Bengali: কালিকা, Kālikā), is a Hindu goddess associated with eternal energy. The name Kali means “black”, but has by folk etymology come to mean “force of time (kala)”. Despite her negative connotations, she is today considered the goddess of time and change. Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, her earliest incarnation as a figure of annihilation still has some influence. More complex Tantric beliefs sometimes extend her role so far as to be the “ultimate reality” or Brahman. She is also revered as Bhavatarini (literally “redeemer of the universe”). Comparatively recent devotional movements largely conceive Kali as a benevolent mother goddess.

Kali is represented as the consort of god Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing. She is associated with many other Hindu goddesses like Durga, Bhadrakali, Sati, Rudrani, Parvati and Chamunda. She is the foremost among the Dasa-Mahavidyas, ten fierce Tantric goddesses.

Watchmen-Pyramid-5Watchmen5-Youre-a-better-night-owl

This director, who directed Watchmen (See my Watchmen post) seems to have a strange obsession with Owls. As seen in the Watchmen movie, he blatantly displays connections to Freemasonry with owl-shaped ships, checkerboarded floors, Owls on book covers written by fictional characters with last names of “Mason”, a white owl on a wall, and last but not least, the name “Molek” and/or “Molech” being blatantly used in the movie Watchmen tying this to Bohemian grove. Is all this shit a coincidence? Is it being done on purpose? Is it the result of the collective unconscious as Carl Jung would say? But wait, it gets even freakier.

When taking a look at Zack Snyder (aka Sam Rogers) upcoming movies on IMDB, we see this:

Guardians of Ga’Hoole – 24 September 2010

[imdb] Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series.

Can this get any more absurd? According to Wikipedia:

Guardians of Ga’Hoole is a children’s fiction book series written by Kathryn Lasky and illustrated by Richard Chowder. There is also an upcoming movie of the same name, based on the series. Most of the main characters are owls, and the series is a cross between animal fiction such as Watership Down and epic fantasy. In the October/November months of 2008, the main series ended with fifteen books, the most recent book in the series being The War of the Ember. However, the series will continue with more accompanying books, including the already-released Guide Book to the Great Tree and the upcoming book Lost Tales of the Great Tree – a sneak peek was provided at the end of book fifteen. The accompanying series is written by Kathryn Huang Knight. Ga’Hoole, in the fictional owl language, means “Great Spirit of Hoole”.

These books are filled with parallel esoteric connections. Lets check an Amazon.com review:

From School Library Journal
Grade 4-8-At the beginning of this new series, a young Barn Owl named Soren lives peacefully with his family, participating in rituals like the First Meat ceremony, and enjoying legends about the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, knightly owls “who would rise each night into the blackness and perform noble deeds.” After he falls from his nest, his idyllic world transforms into one of confusion and danger, as he is captured by evil chick-snatching owls and taken to the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls. Soren and his new friend Gylfie work to develop strategies for withstanding “moon blinking” (brainwashing), while secretly striving to learn how to fly. The legends of Ga’Hoole help them to survive, and they are able to escape to find their families and warn the world about the dangers of St. Aegolius. While the owls have human characteristics, such as Soren’s determination and Gylfie’s creative ideas, their actions and culture reflect Lasky’s research into owl behaviors and species. The story’s fast pace, menacing bad guys, and flashes of humor make this a good choice for reluctant readers, while the underlying message about the power of legends provides a unifying element and gives strong appeal for fantasy fans.

First Meat ceremony? Rise each night into blackness and perform noble deeds? Evil owls? Brainwashing? Here’s another review:

From Booklist
Gr. 5-8. Soren, a barn owl still weeks away from fledging, is knocked from his otherwise loving family’s nest by his nasty older brother. He is swooped up from the forest floor by a pair of nefarious owls who hold him–along with many other owlets of diverse species–captive in a kind of owl social reformatory. Lasky portrays an owl world that has more in common with George Orwell than with Brian Jacques, offering readers big questions about human social psychology and politics along with real owl science. Broad themes related to the nature of personal choice, the need for fellowship based on love and trust, and sharing knowledge with one’s peers are presented compellingly and with swift grafting to the animal adventure story. Developmentally linked celebrations (such as “First Fur” and “First Meat”), methods devised for brain-washing (including the regimental marching of sleepy owls by moonlight), and the diverse landscapes in which owls makes their homes come to life here as Soren rebels against his captors, makes a friend, and executes the first stage of his planned liberation and family reconciliation. Readers will look forward to upcoming installments. Francisca Goldsmith

All I can say is… George Orwell?

Kathryn Latsky

In an interview, Latsky states:

Q: Where did you get the inspiration for the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series?

A: Well, my first idea was to do a non fiction book about owls. My husband Christopher Knight, a former national Geographic photographer, and I had done several non fiction books together illustrated with his photos. But Chris said that it would be awfully hard doing a non fiction book what with owls shy, rare to the point of endangered and that the best pictures would be at night. So lighting would be difficult. It was his idea that I try a fantasy book. In the beginning I thought I would just do one book. But when I sent the proposal into Scholastic Jean Feiwel, the editor in chief, called me up and said “This is not just one book. It’s six”. I was kind of shocked. I thought how on earth do I stretch this out to six? But now I am just starting book 13. So I guess I sort of figured it out.

Q: Which books will be included in the Guardians of Ga’Hoole movie? Is it going to be live action, cgi, or animated?

A: The movie is going to be cgi and they are right now planning on using a lot of the owls from the Harry Potter movies. It is the same movie company Warner Brothers and the same producer. The first movie, or what we hope will be the first of many, will include books 1 through 3.
